7-9 Textile Arts: There comes a time in a person’s life when he or she begins thinking about a potential career opportunity, trying something new, or enhancing a hobby. Textile Arts is an introduction to exploring various yarn or textile art techniques. Students will apply skills during project assembly. In this course you will encounter storytelling through video. Storytelling is a connection between people, we become part of a community when we listen and acknowledge these stories. These stories will give us insight into people’s journeys as they stitch through life.

7-9 Lego Robotics: In this option, using Lego, students will begin this class by investigating simple machines, and computer programming. From this point the class will use their knowledge and creativity to build and program robots to solve a variety of tasks and missions. After this the class will take the wheel and will design an obstacle course of their own for their robots to complete.

7-9 Scale Model Construction: In this option students will work on math and drawing skills to first design on paper a scale model of a house or other structure. Students will also research some of the costs of the materials that would be used in the real-life versions of these structures, and will be completing a spreadsheet documenting how much they would cost. Once this is completed we will be building these scale models out of cardboard.
